I've always had an affinity of realistic photos because of the sense of familiarity they portray. They seem to create an emotion that most of us can identify with - having been there ourselves. In the latest issue of PREFMag (No. 24), Jim Verburg's photos do just that... create a strong sense of person, space, relationship, sexuality and emotion (using natural or single source available light). "Jim Verburg's photographic work is an intuitive expression of intimacy, memory, light and connection."

With all the traveling and hustle-bustle of the holiday season, I've fallen behind a little... this time, failing to post these preview images of Pref Mag #24. It doesn't matter... these pics are still hot, no matter how many times you've already seen them. On the cover... Michael Churchill by photographer Lope Navo. Michael's a 22 year old psychology major and former hockey player with a dream of landing a job with a well-known magazine.

Pref mag's last issue of the year is now on newsstands. On the cover is model Raff by Phillipe Biancotto. Across the front of the magazine we have, in translation, "I LEAVE YOU"... with 'several scenarios for separation'. I haven't read the issue, but it sounds like Pref might be offering advice on how to enter the new year... alone! Oh well, at least you'd have Raff.

Now on newsstands, Pref Mag #22 (Sept./Oct.) asks, "Who's afraid of serial killers? With a dossier that focuses on the most gruesome of subjects, Pref #22 still manages to turn out sexy, yet dark images from superb photogs Justin Monroe (Crime Scenes) and Anthony Gayton (Sunday Morning). Lets face it, sexuality places a huge part behind some, if not most, of the worlds most horrific crimes. Beyond that, danger plays a role in many people's sexual fantasies. So while I wouldn't want to be caught dead in any "Scene de Crime", I sure wouldn't mind a little "Diamanche Matin" rough-housing with the hottie below (even if he was carrying a sharp, pointed knife with what looks like blood on the tip. It could be paint... right? Ooohhh.. The danger of it all!) More after the jump --->
