After almost two years of planning and photo gathering, MASCULINITY marks L.A.-based photographer Michael Stokes' first solo collection from Bruno Gmunder. Printed in the publisher's largest format, 10.5" x 13", the book was just released November 1 and is now available on Amazon.com; 128 pages of pure manliness.
Last we saw photographer Michael Stokes, he was busy building a portfolio and establishing himself as a commercial/editorial photographer. His style was evident and his eye for male beauty...keen. Since then, Stokes has remained busy but has mixed up his style a bit. From what I see here, it's evident that he's come full circle and has established what he set out to do. MORE PHOTOS next page.
Let me introduce you to photographer Michael Stokes, a Bay Area native who left Berkeley for Los Angeles in 1993 to finish his studies in film-making and photography. He finished first in his class and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Fine Art at Cal State Long Beach (the poor man’s film school - as he puts it) but, like a vast majority of graduates, found himself following other career paths.
Amid a variety of successes, twists & turns, and even tragedy, Stokes has come full circle and is now building a portfolio and establishing himself as a commercial/editorial photographer - with a fantastic eye for male beauty. I encourage you to visit his Michael Stokes Photo to see more from this talented artist. But before you go, turn the page for MORE AMAZING SHOTS.
