A shirtless Michael Phelps celebrates victory at the 13th FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy earlier today (Sunday, July 26). Phelps and teammates Ryan Lochte, Matthew Grevers and Nathan Adrian touched first in the Men’s 4x 100m Freestyle Final, taking home the gold. The teams time of 3:09.21 also set a new Championships record.

The UK's News of the World (NOTW) released this pic of Olympic champion Michael Phelps smokin' a bong at a party last November. Phelps supposedly surprised students at the University Of South Carolina in Columbia by showing up unannounced at a house party.
A source close to NOTW said, “You could tell Michael had smoked before. He grabbed the bong and a lighter and knew exactly what to do.“He looked just as natural with a bong in his hands as he does swimming in the pool. He was the gold medal winner of bong hits. Michael ended up getting a little paranoid, though, because before too long he looked like he was nervous and ran out of the place.”

Sports Illustrated has named Olympic Champion Michael Phelps "Sportsman of the Year" for 2008. With a record-breaking 8 gold medals around his neck, Phelps is now spending his time teaching kids to swim safely and promoting his sport as an every-year event.
By championing the cause of water safety Phelps could save many lives, and the trajectory of others will be changed merely by his inspirational example. In 2012, when we are deep into another presidential election and facing challenges that have yet to reveal themselves, Phelps will once again unite a nation. He does not swim alone. He swims for all of us.

"I'm excited to meet Michael Phelps!" she told PEOPLE at a bash celebrating her film Ghost Town at the Toronto Film Festival. "He's gonna be naked in all the sketches I write, for sure."

Olympic champion Michael Phelps paid a visit to Disneyworld recently, his first appearance since returning to the states, and the first of many for Disney's "Swim With The Stars." Phelps, along with medalists Ian Crocker and Lenny Krayzelburg, will visit 12 cities around the country, with stops in Atlanta, New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Seattle, San Francisco and (my fave) - Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.
“I am so happy to celebrate here and see some of the fans who supported me,” said Phelps. “It’s great to feel so much excitement around the sport of swimming in the U.S. and around the world. To top it all off with a parade at Disney World is just incredible.”
