Jillian Michaels (who recently told Ladies' Home Journal she would be glad to be in a healthy relationship with anyone, male or female) is on the cover of the May issue of Women’s Health (out today) and discusses everything from her new show “Losing it with Jillian” to her long term career plan and having kids.
On Jillian’s mission to become an all-around life coach: “I want to empower people to find happiness via a healthy lifestyle, and when I say healthy, I don’t just mean diet and exercise. Those are just tools.”
On “Losing it with Jillian” her new show (currently in production) that has Jillian moving in with a different family each week to root out every aspect of the household’s dysfunction: “It’s about rebooting your life. The more people are able to see a truer picture, the easier it will be to get a message across.”
On her greater plan: “By the time I’m 40, the hope is that I’ll be solidly in daytime television and producing the various other experts we’ve brought along the way. I’m not going to be wearing spandex in a [workout] DVD at 40! If I am, shoot me.”
On having kids: “I’m going to adopt. I can’t handle doing that to my body. Also, when you rescue something, it’s like rescuing a part of yourself.”
On getting up and moving: “Work to 85 percent of your maximum heart rate. The greater the intensity, the quicker you’ll start to see results. Ina perfect world, work out for an hour five times a week. Less than perfect: Do 20 to 30 minutes five times a week.”
