In Out magazine’s March issue, French porn star François Sagat celebrates the repeal of “don’t ask don’t tell” in his own distinct way.
In the interview, Sagat remembers his childhood and a contentious relationship with his father. “My father was not really into being my father,” he explains. “He was not really into affection with me.” He continues, “I was feminine. My appearance was very discreet, but my behavior was feminine. I was always shy, until I did porn when I was 25.
French pornstar François Sagat is transitioning from porn into auteur cinema, taking a lead role in Christophe Honoré's new film "Man At Bath". Honoré chose Sagat because he "redefines the notion of masculinity", a construction which Sagat likes to toy with, by sometimes appearing in high heels or fishnets, a daring move for a gay porn actor, expected to embody a heightened virility at all times.
The story, set in Gennevilliers and New York City, revolves around a gay couple who tries everything to prove to each other they are not in love anymore. The title is inspired by a Gustave Caillebote painting at the National Gallery in London. The film also stars Chiara Mastroianni, daughter of Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni.
"Man At Bath" will be released in France on September 22nd. Trailer below.
