If you watch Logo's "A-List" (the network's highest rated show to date), then you're sure to remember A-listerRodiney Santiago's emotional break down after making a shocking discovery on [boyfriend] Reichen's phone this last season. It was during that unscripted moment that photographer Richard Gerst got hooked on this sexy Brazilian model. "it was the honesty that pulled me in," says Gerst.
Taken as he was, Gerst convinced Mr. Santiago to stop by for a quick dinner/meet-n-greet just last week and, as luck would have it, happened to have his camera at the ready (imagine that). What transpired was a spontaneous mini-shoot toward the end of the evening. This is my presentation of the pair's first meeting. [ The two have something special planned for later this year...something that combines the "Gerst" feeling with Rodiney's courage. Says Gerst, "...like a good Scout, it would be wise to "Be prepared." ] MORE PHOTOS next page.
Whether you begin or end your week on Sunday, I couldn't think of a better way to do either than with these photographs of model Paul Knops by UK-based fashion/celeb photographer Joseph Sinclair. Most images expand when clicked...and there's 5 MORE on the next page.
This is 21-year-old Ian Plasman from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (one of my fave cities in the world). Ian works full time as a Landscape Team Supervisor but is now adding 'Model' to his resume. Only in 'the biz' since May, Ian began modeling on the advice and support of his voice teacher...signing with P3 Talent Management in NY that same month. Ian says, "It's all happened kind of suddenly," but admits, he is "loving the attention." [ MORE PHOTOS ]
Ian enjoys most sports and outdoor activities, but has a true passion for music; creating, composing and singing. Check out samples of his music at www.myspace.com/e2then2010. Outside of modeling, Ian's long-term goal is to pursue acting, singing, TV and eventually film.
Without further adieu, this is the incredible Derek Richardson. Thanks to photographer Thomas Synnamon for sending over the original photos. As for my treatment work...I just did what I felt. Fits the season I suppose. TWO MORE PHOTOS on the next page. Don't forget to click'em.
Be sure to check out Derek's ModeyMayhem profile for a lot more from Thomas. You'll also be able to see the original photos that I started with...amazing in their own right.
Thanks to photographer Thomas Synnamon for brightening up my weekend with some photos of model Roland Szegi. It's been a cold and wet weekend here in San Francisco...part of the reason I decided to place Roland in a winter-like setting. I figured he could heat things up.
Shawn Stingel is a sharp-dressed man in "Executive Canvas," my second post from a 3-part series by photographer Julian Vankim (see first post). I meant to post this set well over a month ago but (as happens with me from time to time) got sidetracked with life. I had a lot of fun working with Julian's original photos and am quite pleased with the end results. Late - yes. But as they say, better late than never. The show goes on. And what goes on must come off!
New with Major (NYC), this is Lukas Bosser by photographer Joseph Bleu. Says Joseph, "..his beauty is that of a boy man. A cherub." Joseph chose to do both industrial faded black & white photos, and his usual "beauty" shots. I then provided a little treatment of my own...as usual.
I've been waiting for this magic to happen for a while now - and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Michael MacNeal and photographer Richard Gerst were meant to be. And working with the images to create the story proved to be one of my favorite projects yet.
Says Gerst of his time with MacNeal, "Give Michael a pair of boots, a horse crop, vintage Halston luggage and a helmut...and you get a story. He moves like something from outer space...at once commanding and almost threatening, and simultaneously beautiful and vulnerable. Michael was just awesome to shoot."
