SAN FRANCISCANS: A Robert Mapplethorpe pop-up installation will be in San Francisco this coming Friday and Saturday (3/25-3/26) at PROXY (Linden St. and Octavia St. - see map on the next page). Open to the public from 6pm-10pm each night, the installation features some of Mapplethorpe’s most famous works projected onto the side of shipping containers (like the NYC installation pictured above), and a digital gallery of his more personal works will be available inside. This is a very special chance for guests to venture inside the mind of one of the 20th Century’s most important artists, and experience first-hand the magnitude of Mapplethorpe’s legacy.
The pop-up arrives just prior to the premiere of HBO Documentary Mapplethorpe: Look at the Picutres airing on April 4th at 9pm.
David Giuntoli, star of NBC’s supernatural crime drama ‘Grimm,' covers the Spring Fashion Issue of BELLO mag. Under the covers, Giuntoli chats with Bello's Hiko Mitsuzuka about brussel sprout recipes, his obsession with the rock band Fugazi, and the beard he’s grown since being on hiatus for several weeks.
“This is a hiatus beard,” he tells Mitsuzuka. “I joked that you’re not an actor until you grow a beard on your hiatus. Also, it’s my one act of rebellion. I don’t have to shave for two months? I’m not gonna shave for two months.”
When asked if it’s a part of his preferred personal style, Giuntoli responds, “I like to go faux intellectual." “Grow a beard, people think you’re smart. Done.”
