Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet III premiered on MTV last night and with it... some boy-on-boy makeout sessions. Fellow blogger Hunk du Jour will be featuring a Q&A with Israeli musician Ivri Lider beginning at 8AM this morning. Lider was featured in this year's "Out 100" list, and is currently working on an English language album (along with another Hebrew album.)
Hunk du Jour: To be honest, when I think of middle eastern countries -- the thought of a gay artist not only being accepted, but being so popular isn't something that I would expect. Is there a disconnect between how the world views the middle east (or specifically, Israel) and what daily life is like?
Ivri Lider: Yes. Israel may be in the Middle East, but it is by no means "Middle Eastern." I think peoples' impression of Israel is skewed by the things they see on the news and read in the papers. That's not to say it's a perfect world over here, but things aren't nearly as bad as you might think they are from what gets reported. Culturally and artistically, Israel is much closer to New York and LA than to Baghdad and Tehran. In many ways Israel is even a much more liberal country than America, as we found out when my [American] boyfriend got a visa as my partner.
Friend and fellow blogger Alan Ilagan is up against two other guys for the Best Dressed Man of the Capital Region. It's clear to see that Alan has the best 'style' hands down. It takes more than just putting on a suit to be the best dressed man. You have to have a look that's all your own, a sense of "quality, taste, and style" (as my friend Tim Gunn would say). Homorific Hunk du Jour chatted recently with Jack Mackenroth about his life leading up to his appearance on the next season of Project Runway, auditioning for the show, his participation in the Gay Olympics, and exactly how much he loved watching previous seasons of the show.
Hunk du Jour: Where were you when you found out you were selected? How did you celebrate?
Jack Mackenroth: I got the call when I was walking down the street in Manhattan. It's a very surreal experience because you want to scream and tell the world but because of the air tight confidentiality agreement you cant tell anyone. Basically I just said "shut up!" to the person from Bravo and then I hung up and jumped up and down for about 30 seconds like a freak.

I read over at JMG that some believe Donnie Davie's to be Todd Quillen, an commercial actor and improv performer. While I can certainly see a resemblance, I do not believe they are the same person. I looked at and compared, side by side, many photos of Donnie Davies and Todd Quillen and noted several differences in appearance. Beyond appearances, I don't believe Todd Quillen, someone with many commercial acting credits to his name, nor his agents, would make or allow for such a slanderous video...one that could potentially ruin his career. I, also, have tried to reach Todd's agent, but have been unsuccessful.
As for the appearances:
1) Todd's eyebrows are heavier at the front and disappear as they extend outward. Donnie's eyebrows are heavy all the way across. This trait was noticeable in all photos.
2) While there isn't much of an age difference, Todd does look somewhat older than Donnie.
3) While both share a receding hairline, Todd's hairline appears to be farther back farther than Donnie's...and even if Todd grew it out, I don't believe it would fill in as much as Donnie's.
4) While both share similar facial features, Todd's face is larger and his chin slightly longer.
Love God's Way Ministries does not have a physical address or phone number - only a gmail account. I looked up the registration information for LoveGodsWay.org, and discovered that it was registered on 10/25/06. EveningService.com was also registered on the same day as LoveGodsWay....and DonnieDavies.com was registered on 12/06/06, almost a year later. All three were registered by Domains By Proxy in Scottsdale, AZ. No other information is available.
The lack of information, the terrible 'acting' job in the video, the fact that they're not even playing the instruments, etc...leads me to one conclusion: this whole is a hoax, an elaborate gag. All said and done, it wasn't funny at all. If anything, this video should serve as wake-up call to Christian denominations that some people find this whole thing believable...a true portrayal of Christian faith.
Spankings aside, I want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. I started this blog in November of 2006, a very short time ago, but have already had considerable success in that I've made some great new friends and have learned much. I'm excited to take Ethan Says down some new roads in 2007 and hope you'll continue to visit me from time to time. Along those lines, be prepared to get to know me on a much deeper level - as I share more of my "self" with you...Mind, body, heart, and soul.

Okay, so I know "Ethan Says" is new - alright?...and, like, I know Chad's been blogging for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS, right? And I know a man isn't measured by his Clustrmap alone, or even his huge peepmosphere. But I've got major peepmosphere envy. And I'm sooooo trying not to cry right now - because I recently updated my Clustrmap account...and it wiped out my ENTIRE peepmosphere. All 40 of them. Don't feel sorry for me though. I'll be okay. Really. I'm just gonna go count my 9 red bleeps and tomorrow - there'll be more. Cuz, gosh darnit - people like me. (right?)
