MICHAEL BREYETTE: METAMORPHOSIS

Being different can feel very lonely. But from our cocoons we struggle to emerge. Reborn, we take flight on gossamer wings, and embrace who we are. Michael Breyette revisits the fantasty realm with "Metamorphosis".

He arrives from the city Friday night to a tight embrace and fierce kisses. The weekend is here! It is filled with playing at the beach, a trek into town for some window shopping and dinners out, a little adventuring and just lounging around, romantic walks and laughter. A wonderful weekend with a long distance lover... unfortunately it is bittersweet as it must always end, come Monday. <--- Uncensored. ;)
With the weather outside frightful and the fire inside delightful, is there any better way to enjoy the Night Before Christmas than cuddled up with your sweetie reading 'A Christmas Carol'?
"Since I was after a cozy Christmas feel, the warm glow of a fireplace seemed essential. I already had the layout with the couple on the couch and the winter scene in the window behind them so I was reluctant to alter what I had. Then I realized that I only needed to show the effect of the fireplace, which is what I wanted and the fireplace itself need not be in view." - Michael Breyette
The Original, limited edition Gallery and Portfolio prints, and open edition Studio prints are available for purchase.

In the past, it's been zombies, vampires, and devils. With this year's "Leader of the Pack", Michael Breyette gives you the sexiest creatures of the night... werewolves! (For the unsensored version, click here!)
While in Maine this summer, I had gone to the public beach at night just as the full Moon was rising over the ocean. It appeared huge and red, as if swollen with blood. When it came time to work on my Halloween piece, I found the memory of that night was still so vivid in my mind. And while I was concerned that rendering the fall foliage at night would be kind of difficult, using rusty browns for the leaves that are bright red in sunlight and dark ochres for the yellow ones worked really well. - Michael Breyette

Check out these super hot new pics of my friend Jordan Carlyle taken by Ronald Tan. Not only is Jordan an extraordinary artist, he's an extraordinarily beautiful man himself. And can you believe Ronald, recipient of a B.S. in Microbiology, was going to be a pharmacist? I think this budding photographer made the right choice when he jumped ship for fashion photography. Be sure to check out Jordan's art and Ronald's photography in the links below.

A fresh summer morning, the air is clean; the day is new and uncluttered. Your senses slowly awaken, easing you into your day with a soft snowy white towel, crisp cool water, and the pure scents of soap and lotions. The start to each day should be treasured and greeted in all its naked glory.

It's not uncommon these days to see underwear brands selling their 'wears' with half-nude models. But rarely, if ever, do you find a site that sells it's half-nude images (+ undewear) in a way that's dirty-yet-tastefully done - like BULGE. With gallery images from Ralph West (seen here), Astor Frank, Bruna Kazinoti and Jan Gormann, BULGE provides quite the package deal starting at only €99.

New from Michael Breyette, "Night on the Town".
"The dashing duo get all dressed up for a night on the town, an evening filled with laughter, food, and dancing. Throughout there will be little whispers to each other, a nuzzle, a caress of the hand, a squeeze of the knee, building up until they finally have to bid farewell to friends and guests, and return to their quiet sanctuary for a private celebration for two."
Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints, as well as open edition Portfolio Prints of this commissioned piece are available for purchase. The 20% off Day of Issue Sale ends around midnight tomorrow.

New from Michael Breyette and Studio 1088: Full Service
"Taking the back roads on a hot summer day, it is still possible to find a gas station that offers full service. You pull up to the pumps where you notice a young sweaty attendant trying to keep his cool by licking on a Popsicle. As you roll down the window the icy a/c gives way to the hot billowing summer air. You can't help but let your mind wander as he asks "Fill it?" with his glistening cherry flavored lips." - Michael Breyette

Leave it all behind with Michael Breyette's newest piece, Escape. Says Michael, "Those sexy guys on their sport bikes seem to be everywhere these days, reveling in their freedom out on the open road. With their shirts flying wild in the breeze, and their shorts riding dangerously low, it's no wonder the inspiration came quickly for my latest piece, Escape."

Now available from Studio 1088 comes Michael Breyette's latest masterpiece, Pensive Sky. The sun has just dipped below the horizon behind you, the crowds have departed, and the tide has gone out, further exaggerating the emptiness of the beach. Sitting on the hard packed sand, a warm zephyr carries the ocean's scent, the only sounds the persistent slapping of waves and a small flock of seabirds. The perfect setting to reflect on the past, the future, or simply revel in the grandeur of nature.
"I love the seaside and being at the beach. It doesn't matter if it's a bright sunny day suited for catching some rays while checking out the guys in their swimwear, a peaceful or romantic walk at dusk, or even a stormy November day. Following "Beach Boys", another yet very different beach scene, I would be equally happy if I could step into either one." - Michael Breyette

Simon has posted a new gallery at Photoartistic.net called "Structuristic". Not only is this his first outdoor photoshoot, but it's his first time using a stylist. The light and shadows work well together and I particularly like the play on shapes and angles. Good job Simon. For more pics, check out photoartistic.net (NSFW).

I'll be hit'n up WeHo tomorrow and trying out Jeffrey Sanker's Murano Ristorante for Mother's Day. Aside from wanting to try out the upscale Italian restaurant, I'm looking forward to seeing the artwork of Jordan Carlyle, currently featured on the walls of Murano. You may have seen the write-up about Jordan in the May issue of Instinct magazine. A former model, Jordan is now an artist and architectural designer who's work is classic-yet-contemporary and can be seen in a variety of installations and residences. You can check out his work at JordanCarlyle.com and read more about him at Instinct Magazine.

Artist Joe Phillips' book, Boys Will Be Boys, originally published in 2003, is now available in an extended version. With almost twice as many pages and numerous new pictures, this larger formatted Boys Will Be Boys, Extended Edition, provides twice the youthful charm and sexy fantasies.

Admittedly the ass is one of my favorite attributes of the male physique. A man's well developed glutes and legs indicate power and strength to me, even more than bulging biceps or big pecs. Starting with that premise the piece developed around "Strength" not only as a physical attribute, but as an emotional one as well. --> More

Rain cleans the air and ground, sustains life, and has an awesome effect on a hard body clad in a thin t-shirt. So every once in a while, as long as it's warm, we should get out and enjoy a beautiful "Rainstorm".
The original, as well as limited edition prints are available for purchase. The 20% Day Of Issue Sale will end around Midnight tomorrow. (See close-ups)
I recently discovered the work of Anthony Gayton and was absolutely blown away at the beauty of his images. His photographs are true masterpieces...each series telling a story through visual artistry, like this very personal interpretation of three poems by Walt Whitman, "Are You the New Person, Drawn Toward me?", "Sometimes With One I Love," and "To a Western Boy".

To view these beautiful images (and more) in full size, please visit Anthony's site. Or, if you're ever in Barcelona, be sure to visit the MiTO Galeria d'Art - where many of Anthony's exhibition prints can be viewed by appointment.

I'm excited to say that Michael Breyette's first book, 'Summer Moved On", is now available. Though available from several sources, if you purchase the book from Studio 1088, you'll receive an autographed and numbered copy! Only 10% of the of the first printing will be available through Studio 1088!
Michael Breyette’s “Summer Moved On” presents an excellent crosssection of the paintings of this American artist. Breyette uses warm colors and harmonic forms; his paintings convey ease and radiate meditative power. The bodies of the men melt into the landscape. The artist paints American icons, baseball players, cowboys, surfers, all in everyday scenes that are full of confidence and the relaxing warmth of the late summer’s heat.
For nudes, you'll need to buy the book. For now, here's a preview!
While most collectors of Tim Tate's art have little clue that much of his inspiration comes from being HIV positive, his work is alive with HIV imagery. By infusing HIV symbolism into his art, Tate is broadening the channels of discussion concerning loss, healing and memory. Though HIV positive for 23 years, Tate has remained healthy with little consequence. In fact, it is because of his art that Tim believes he is alive and well.
Tim Tate's work is on view now at The Fraser Gallery in Bethesda, MD., through April 7. You can also view the exhibit online.
Always on the lookout for interesting art, I came across the work of Delmas Howe today and was intrigued, to say the least, with his Stations series, "a gay passion based on the Stations of the Cross as they are represented in Christian art. They are set in the sexual theatre that developed in the piers as they were in New York City during the 1970's." After his partner died of AIDS in 1983, Delmas Howe sought comfort from the church, and help from the state. Instead, he found a declaration of war against "his kind". Stations: A Gay Passion, is his response.
