TILA TEQUILA SOUNDS OFF ON DADT
Saddened by the immediate discharge of out-and-proud U.S. soldier Dan Choi from the the National Guard because of his "homosexual conduct," Tila Tequila took to the net today and posted a letter on her GlobalGrind.com blog, asking President Obama to repeal the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
"Being an openly bisexual woman myself and having a lot of close gay friends, I have always HATED that policy, which pretty much tells people that in order to serve our country, you have to live in secret. You can't openly embrace the person you love or tell others about them. What kind of message does that send? Well, clearly its one of shame. Very shameful and quite sad," said Tila.
Applauding President Obama for extending partner benefits to federal Gay employees, calling on Congress to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, meeting with Mathew Shephard's mom about hate crimes, and repealing the HIV travelers ban, Tila also asked the President for a date to repeal the DADT Policy, and finished her letter with, "We are here, we are queer, and its about time that the military gets used to it!!! Discrimination is so 2000 and Late! The time is NOW!!!!!! YES WE CAN, BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN!"
