KISS IN TELLS LDS CHURCH TO KISS OFF
Gay couples in Salt Lake City held a "Kiss In" at Temple Square yesterday to protest the LDS church for detaining a gay couple who kissed on church property last Thursday.
Matt Aune and Derek Jones say they were detained by LDS Church security for kissing on the cheek and were also cited by Salt Lake City police for trespassing on church property.
The church, on the other hand, provided a statement saying that the detainment had nothing to do with Aune and Jones being gay, that they were "asked to stop engaging in inappropriate behavior just as any other couple would have been, and that Aune and Jones became argumentative, refused to leave the property, and were thus arrested and given a citation for criminal trespass.
[ As a 'runaway' Mormon myself, stories like this really get to me. I used to walk the temple grounds all the time when I lived in Salt Lake (I lived only a few blocks away). Even after coming out, and becoming an inactive member, I'd still visit Temple Square for the peace, beauty, and serenity it provided me. But I also remember letting go of my boyfriends hand as soon as we entered the gates. I applaud these two for being themselves. ]

I think that's great they expressed themselves through kissing.
