ALTOGETHERQUEER EXHIBIT
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Stonewall, ALTOGETHERQUEER is presenting a multi-sensory visual and language-based art exhibit during New York City's Pride Week. The show runs June 18 – 28 at The Garage, 548 West 28th Street (between 10th and 11th).
The installation will feature the works of many of today’s innovative queer artists, interpreting major LGBT events that have transpired over the past 40 years. From a poem about Judy Garland’s death to a painting protesting Carrie Prejean, the Miss America runner-up who is waging a public war against Gay Marriage, these are the issues that define the Gay American Experience.

Artist and activist Laughlin Artz is curating the exhibit and hopes the cutting edge and raw art featured will inspire youth - gay and straight – to join in the fight of our generation’s biggest civil rights issue – gay rights.
[Artwork seen here is by pop artist OLAN who says, "The show is about being gay in society today (2009) and the discrimination and bigotry we face on a day to day basis. It is a chance for all people, gay and straight, to peer into the window of what and who we are today (2009) through the art of some of today's provocative and politically active gay artists."]

Hi nice article there. The show is about being gay in society today (2009) and the discrimination and bigotry we face on a day to day basis. It is a chance for all people, gay and straight, to peer into the window of what and who we are today (2009) through the art of some of today's provocative and politically active gay artists. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. I just wanted to clarify since those are my paintings up there. PPS - I love you r blog. -
