NIGEL LYTHGOE: SO YOU THINK YOU'RE A HOMOPHOBE

NIGEL LYTHGOE: SO YOU THINK YOU'RE A HOMOPHOBE

I was so excited to watch last night's season opener of So You Think You Can Dance - but was totally put off by producer Nigel Lythgoe's homophobic, snide, and unnecessary comments directed at two of last night's contestants. In the end, Belfer, who is gay, was sent on to Vegas while his straight partner, Kibel, was sent home. WATCH above.

I didn't see anything to be construed as homophobic except perhaps the alienating the audience part. He stuck mostly to critiquing the dance and all the judges found it to be confusing trying to follow the lead. Any dancer/judge on any dance show I have seen always always critiques a ballroom dance based on a female being feminine and a male being masculine. When you start blurring that line and switching leads through out the dance it becomes hard to follow. If one stuck to the lead and the other followed it could have been better.
