MISS CALIFORNIA BOOED FOR VIEWS ON GAY MARRIAGE

Miss USA runner-up Miss California (Carrie Prejean) received a mixture of hisses, boos and cheers with her response to Perez Hilton's question about gay marriage: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalise same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”

In response, Prejean said, "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Perez responded on his blog, "She lost not because she doesn't believe in gay marriage, Miss California lost because she is a dumb bitch." Perez has since apologized for call Prejean a "dumb bitch" but says, "I am so disappointed in Miss California representing my country not because she doesn't believe in gay marriage but because she doesn't inspire and unite."
