SEAN KREBS HAS AN INSTINCT FOR STYLE
As the new Fashion Director for Instinct Magazine, Sean Krebs enjoys many perks...one being that he gets to hang out with half-naked models - like Kyle Ledeboer and George Serfes in "Black & White" for Instinct's October issue. But Sean's favorite perk (when not ogling hot boys in barely there briefs) is sharing his knowledge on great fashion, style and trend news - all of which you'll find in his monthly Style Guyde. (You don't wanna miss the monthly giveaways too!).
And speaking of giveaways...because Sean is so giving, he sent these exclusive "Black and White" outtakes of Kyle and George for me to share with Ethan Says readers. Not only that, he was kind enough to answer a few of my questions and provide some important fashion tips for the coming fall/winter months.
(But first, take a look at these non-published photos. Yowza! Looks like George has a baskit-full! You sure didn't see that in the printed photo! Blow it up for a better look! ) Now...on to Sean:
So, Sean...What was it like working with George & Kyle? There weren't any underwear mishaps, were there? (crosses fingers!)
"George and Kyle were both so great to work with! Beyond being totally gorgeous to look at, they were super professional and genuinely nice guys. There weren't any major underwear mishaps - but, let's just say, some major 'adjusting' was necessary when the boys were in the skimpier styles. Plus some extra 'manscaping' too. Of course, William Murphy, our groomer, didn't seem to mind!" (CONT'D)
What sparked the idea for an undies shoot in October?...knowing that, soon, these hotties will be covered up for winter?
"October is Instinct's annual 'Underwear' issue - we think it's a perfect break in between our (more layered) fall stories. And our readers seem to agree!"
Why were these two chosen for the spread (pun intended)...what's the thought process in that?
"I personally like to meet, talk with and take a quick (shirtless) photograph of every model before I book him for a shoot. I can't imagine a 10-hour day on-set or on location with a model who doesn't have any personality or sense of humor. Which George and Kyle have in spades - in addition to killer bodies and beautiful faces (George's eyes! Kyle's lips!). And, as you can see from the pictures, they both can fill out a pair of underwear quite nicely!"
Okay, so name one MUST HAVE for fall and one MUST HAVE for winter.
"Oh! There's so many!! But, if I can only choose one for each season, here goes... For fall, you need a pair of broken-in, beat-up, faded jeans. I'll always love my dark indigo denim but a pair of broken-in jeans looks really fresh right now - especially with a wing tip shoe (mine are Bottega Veneta) and no socks. For winter, a chunky knit is a must. I especially love the hand-knit sweater from D&G that I featured on Bryce in September's 'On Rugged Shores' story."
You're the king of 'giveaways'...can you give us a clue as to what stylin' product you'll be giving away next?
"I love doing giveaways for our readers and I have a lot of friends in the industry who want to contribute. October's 'Style Guyde' giveaway on InstinctMagazine.com will be these amazing scented candles from Tocca - a favorite of Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Barrymore and Kylie Minogue."
What can we expect in the next few months...what does Fall and Winter have in store...fashion wise (and hottie wise)?
"I have such a big mouth but as much as I would like to, I can't reveal too much. I can tell you that Vincent Dilio (who photographed 'Black & White') and I are going down to Nashville next month to shoot one of the hottest male models that I've ever met (and I've met quite a few in my day!) for the December issue. It'll be just him - and his horses, his dogs and his tractor. Oh! And a few clothes too! Believe me, you won't be disappointed!"
How's Instinct treating you so far?
"The entire team at Instinct has been such a pleasure to work with. They're totally open-minded to my story ideas and make the process of producing a fashion story each month a whole lot of fun!"
Where do you see Instinct's fashion editorials taking us this next year? What are your plans?
"Well, February is our annual 'Swimsuit' issue - which is always something to look forward to! Plus I have a really big idea for June's 'Pride' issue that I can't wait to execute."
Will you be gracing Ethan Says readers with more info and exclusives in the coming months? We hope so!
"Of course! You'll totally be hearing more from me again soon!"

"Nope. My boyfriend and I have been together for ages now - we actually met over 9 1/2 years ago at a dive bar in the East Village on a Saturday night..."
